Update: Sep 15 -New Jersey man fired from job for burning pages of Koran. See article === > here < ===. I think he will get his job back if he sues the city. Just my opinion.
Well, now we have a Pastor who wants to burn a Koran, so what? My opinion is if he wants to burn one, go ahead and do it if it makes him feel better about himself, but he doesn’t have to make a national news spectacle of it. He can do it in private and get his jollies. It seems he just wants publicity and get his name in the news. There is a lot of money in becoming nationally known, no matter if it’s good or bad. Always someone willing to pay for interviews, etc.
I found it interesting he calls it International Burn A Koran Day. I wonder who else is doing it other than him? Let me know.
While he’s at it, I can recommend a lot of other books that have no redeeming social value that he can burn at the same time.
UPDATE: Sep 12, 2010. The Rev Terry Jones now says that God is telling him not to burn Korans. Sounds like this man either serves a very confused God or else he has a medical problem of hearing a lot of voices. whatever the case, guess he won’t be burning all those Korans that he has stored in his Christian Church. Guess he can use them as fire starters in his fireplace this winter . He has started enough fires for right now I think. Just think, in a few short weeks he has received national and international recognition for such a simple thing. See how easy it is to get notoriety.
