baseball errorWhen I’m not on my computer, I do a little channel surfing to catch up on the latest not so great things. In the past couple of days, I have noticed some baseball games on. I am with baseball games like I am with beauty pageants, I don’t watch them. Baseball might be the national pastime but it’s a total bore to me. Kind of in the same category as soccer.

Why, you might ask? Well, first of all, it bothers me to watch people earning millions of dollars a year, for working only a few months, who are successful in their work only 30% or less of the time. Somehow it doesn’t seem to justify the salary much less me wasting my time watching them make a living.Baseball player spitting

And what’s with all the spitting? Is that something they learn at baseball kindergarten and just can’t break the habit in adulthood? It is absolutely disgusting. I’m surprised you don’t see them pissing in the dugout as well.

Also, how about those umpires? Can’t they call the plays correctly? If not why don’t they use instant replay as in other sports. The networks already use Baseball umpireinstant replay to show the umpires errors – so why not use instant replay to get the plays called correctly to put some justice in the game? The home plate umpire, isn’t he something, the person in charge, is solely subjective in his calls and each home plate umpire seems to call the balls and strikes in a different strike zone. What kind of rule is that? We are in the age of technology. We can design computer software to call the balls and strikes correctly, don’t need a blind guy squatting behind the catcher’s head.

Well, all you baseball fans – too bad you feel the need and desire to waste your time and money watching these grown up children muck their way through the game. You have my sympathy if you have nothing more productive to do with your life.
